The Wave, Muscat appoints new Deputy CEO and strengthens management team

The Wave, Muscat, today announced new appointments in its management team and further consolidated its footprint in the region as the leading property developer in the sultanate.
Speaking on the appointments Nick Smith, CEO, The Wave, Muscat said, "I am delighted to welcome the team members in their new positions. Abdulla's extensive experience and his management skills make him a natural fit for the position. I truly look forward to his assistance in taking The Wave, Muscat to the next level and delivering the best service possible to our customers.
The Wave, Muscat's development over the past four years has been outstanding and I have been honoured to lead a most talented group of individuals."
Abdulla Al Shidi's association with The Wave, Muscat goes back to the start of the project. He has played a pivotal role in setting up the company's procedures, systems, and corporate governance framework. In his earlier role as CFO, he was responsible for Finance, Human Resources, Commercial Services, Information Technology and the Legal aspects of the business besides being the secretary to the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors.
Commenting on his new role, Al Shidi said, "As more home owners move in to live at The Wave Muscat, the operating model of the company will slowly be changing from construction delivery to facility management, customer services, and asset management. I look forward to the challenge of leading the teams which will ensure The Wave, Muscat keeps its promise to its home buyers and stakeholders with clear focus on the development of our young and talented Omani employees,".
Abdulla is an MBA graduate with over 22 years of experience in finance and commercial services. In his earlier portfolios Abdullah started his career with the Central Bank of Oman and served with them for approximately three years after which he remained with Petroleum Development Oman for 16 years in various positions.
Nasser Al Sheibani, brings a wealth of experience and consummate knowledge to his new role as Vice President, Finance at The Wave, Muscat. Al Sheibani worked earlier as Senior Finance Manager at The Wave, Muscat. He graduated with an honours Degree in Finance from Sultan Qaboose University in 1998. He then held the position of Treasury Dealer at National Bank of Oman, where he was exposed to Foreign Exchange and International Money Markets. His six years of service at Petroleum Development Oman saw him work in the positions of Finance systems analyst, Insurance and business improvements focal point and Senior Project Accountant. He has been awarded two chairman awards for excellence as recognition for his contribution in the insurance and capital budget processes improvements.
Adding a sound background of experience to the Corporate Communications team is Alison Shaw, who has taken the position of PR and Events Manager. Alison has charted a successful career in business development with Calvin Klein in London where she looked after their accessories portfolio. She also held a front line position as PR Coordinator with the Wave, Muscat and has supported the External Affairs team for the past 18 months.
These three senior appointments further consolidate The Wave, Muscat's position as market leader in the Sultanate, and also supports its policy of offering significant career progression to its employees.
The Wave, Muscat, is being developed through a joint venture comprising Oman's Waterfront Investments (representing the Government of the Sultanate of Oman), National Investment funds Company (representing the Omani Pension Funds), and the UAE-based Majid Al Futtaim Group.
