Daman Second Emirates Fund and Daman Islamic Fund pay Dhs1 per unit dividends for Q2

Daman Investments PSC today announced the performance results for the month of June 2008 for two of its funds, the Daman Second Emirates Fund and the Daman Islamic Fund.

The newest Daman offering, the Daman Speculator Fund launched on July 1, 2008 will close its initial subscription period on July 31, 2008. Subscriptions are weekly there afterward.

Daman Second Emirates Fund pays Dhs5 per unit and 3.35% as annualised dividend yield for FY 2008



The Daman Second Emirates Fund, a UAE-registered open-ended fund regulated by the United Arab Emirates Central Bank and focussed on the UAE equities markets, closed the month of June at a Net Asset Value (NAV) of Dhs120.24 per unit as of June 30th, 2008.

The ex dividend Net Asset Value after the payout is Dhs119.24 as on July 1st 2008.

On the dividend front, the Fund has declared Dhs1 per unit as dividend payout for the 2nd quarter of 2008. With this, the Fund has made total dividend payouts of Dhs5 per unit since inception and the annualized dividend yield for 2008 stands at 3.35%

For the month, the Fund recorded a decline of -3.98%, as against the NBAD General Index drop of -2.85%

Daman Islamic Fund pays Dhs3.75 per unit; records 3.88% as annualised dividend yield



The Daman Islamic Fund, a Shari'ah based, open ended UAE-registered mutual fund closed the month of June at a Net Asset Value (NAV) of Dhs104.02 per unit as of June 30th, 2008.

The ex dividend Net Asset Value after the payout is Dhs103.02 per unit as on July 1 2008.

The Fund has declared Dhs1 per unit as dividends for the 2nd quarter of 2008. With this, the Fund has made total dividend payouts of Dhs3.75 per unit since inception and the annualized dividend yield for 2008 stands at 3.88%

For the month, the Fund recorded a decline of -5.20%, as compared to NBAD Islamic Index drop of -6.63% for the corresponding period.
