A380 update: Hamburg a buzz with Emirates Airbus A380

  • Germany: Sunday, July 27 - 2008 at 18:30

Summer has arrived with a buzz in the waterfront city of Hamburg and it's not just the dragonflies skimming across the waterways or the motors' of the water taxis. Bands might be buzzing in the numerous festivals on the streets of this European maritime centre, but the biggest buzz right now is in the aviation sector. This will happen at 10am (midday UAE time) on Monday 28th when more than 400 VIPs, along with 40 Middle East media persons, will witness a historic moment with the handing over of the first Emirates Airbus A380. HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Emirates, will receive the first of its 58 ordered A380s at a special ceremony within the Airbus Hamburg facility, alongside the River Elba.
