"The promotion of international culture and understanding amongst the multi-ethnic population of UAE has always been a core focus for Ibn Battuta Mall. Thanks to Olympics 2008, all eyes are on China right now and at this juncture we wanted to highlight its rich cultural and artistic history as much as it's rising economic and political stature,"

The 2-week long exhibition, one of the most extensive the mall has hosted, will feature collections by 8 artists per week. All the works exhibited will be on sale, with the artists on site to take potential buyers through the various themes and the histories of the paintings and collections.
The list of participating artists include Bai Jiafu, Su Yanling, Dong Zhenzhong, Lin Mei Dong, Yan Xuezhang, Zhang Baosheng, Chang Lu, Liao Zhibiao, Liang Weibin, Wang Jiping, Gao Kunshui, Feng Bing, Cao Xiaoming, Wao Hongli, Huang Shui'an , Feng Zhankui and Ya Guiyan.
Besides the main exhibition, Ibn Battuta Mall has also organised a line-up of side-events, including live demonstrations of speed painting and calligraphy targeting adults and children.
"As part of the DSS celebrations at Ibn Battuta Mall, the Chinese Art Exhibition is a platform to introduce the cultural aspect of China to the children who come to enjoy the festival at the mall while raising awareness of its artistic richness amongst the adults," stated Jones.
