On 18th July, the club celebrated its annual employee bash to reward the staff's constant dedication and hard work throughout the year. From service staff to support staff and management, everyone got a chance to shake a leg to retro performances straight from the 1960s, 70s and 80s at the Diplomatic Club Tent in Qutaifiya Lagoon.

"The event was organized in appreciation of our employees' tremendous commitment and effort,"

shares Dina Khlat, Acting General Manager of the Diplomatic.

Khlat added, "They work hard all year round to make sure every guest is completely happy with our services, and they deserve a chance to take it easy and just have some fun. Besides, it serves as a great motivator and morale booster for everyone."

Attendees were divided into four groups by their respective departments: F&B was Group 1; Housekeeping was Group 2; HR, Finance, IT and Sales & Marketing joined hands to form Group 3; and Front Office, Beauty Saloon and Recreation came together to make up the formidable group 4. After a closely fought contest of retro performances which was judged by an impartial outside judge, Group 4 came out on top for their electrifying performance.

"Those guys really got into the groove," said a member from one of the other groups of his colleagues. "They certainly deserved to win. Anyway, the whole point of the event was to come together and have fun, and that's exactly what we're all doing. Winning & losing is secondary," he said with a shrug and a smile.

Later in the evening everyone enjoyed a scrumptious buffet of international cuisine, but not before NguyenThi Huong (assistant tailor) and Tarek Mohammed (Front Office Receptionist) had been announced "Stars of the Night". Towards the end of the evening, HE Saed Al Mouhanadi, CEO of the Diplomatic Club, conducted a raffle draw in which several employees won valuable prizes. "That was another great annual staff party to wrap up yet another great year at the Diplomatic," summed up Dina Khlat.
