Two years of AMEInfo FN
- Monday, November 25 - 2002 at 11:16
It is just over two years since AMEInfo FN was launched as a regional financial website, and its audience still grew by another 7.5% in October.
A 44% annualized growth in monthly visitors to a total of 99,030 in October speaks for itself. This figure is the most closely allied to a traditional magazine circulation, and is five-times larger than the biggest regional business magazine.
The server figures show October page views up by 7.5% on the previous month at 1.3 million. Even in Western Europe this would be regarded as a very respectable total, for a Middle East specialist website, it is to say the least unusual.
Independently written news wires continue to be the biggest attraction on AMEInfo FN with the daily financial news the biggest draw. Even the specialist motoring news topped 30,000 page views in October, and the daily financial news pulled in nearly 400,000 page views.
A tie-up with the Union of Arab Stock Markets has also brought live price feeds from 11 Arab bourses to the website. However, even in the difficult global markets of today specialist investment columns provided by HSBC and Credit Suisse continue to attract large audiences. IT columns from Oracle also command substantial page views.
Meanwhile, AMEInfo FN's own independently written feature articles are proving very popular. In October the Editorial hit a record 62,332 page views, the Executive Interview got 63,663 page views and the News Feature 50,121.
But the website is not standing still, and launched a new Legal column and Company Profiles section in October. AMEInfo would like to wish its readers and sponsors a happy Ramadan and thank them for their support over the past two years which has made all this progress possible.
And if you have a handheld PDA computer please do download the handheld edition of the AMEInfo website, if you have not already done so. Since its launch six months ago the PDA version of the AMEInfo website has grown exponentially, and some 25,000 people a day now download our newswires and features on to their handheld computer.
You can also read AMEInfo FN news on other websites through our syndicated news service. And this content is also available to banks and other regional financial institutions who want to boost traffic to their websites. AMEInfo FN is pleased to share its success with others.
