Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay has redefined the region's dining standards by offering rotating monthly eco-culinary signature dishes that adds a unique and memorable dining experience in a setting that provides glorious views across the northern Musandam Peninsula in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Beginning of Civilization the origin of the date palm is lost in antiquity. Date is the only fruit known to mankind since the beginning of consciousness which has kept its sustainability till day. From the Garden of Eden to ancient Mesopotamia to modern Arabia for centuries dates have been a source of nutrition, a symbol of hospitality and icon of tradition. Dates are also considered as an aphrodisiac; The Sultan's, Sheikhs and the Persian Shahs during their reigns have all enticed their guests to this sweet souvenir.
Led by resident executive chef Gerald Bergue, the menu alternates monthly, by sourcing locally with the Omani green credentials of the Six Senses brand. Truly one of the only naturally cultivated foods in Oman and through out the Gulf region is the date palm. Irrigated by the traditional falaj system, which is a series of underground tunnels that channels the water through.
Gerald Bergue, resident executive chef says "Dates are extremely delicious and a strong source of antioxidants which protect our bodies from stress of day-to-day living, it's a bid to show off to our affluent food lovers and promote a healthy lifestyle."
Top benefits include:
Considered the most potent form of antioxidants, scientific research shows that dates not only contribute to overall health, but may even help prevent a number of diseases.
Adding dates to your daily diet provides valuable traces of minerals such as iron, potassium, folate, vitamin A, B & C, longevity, mental alertness and physical endurance.
Rochelle Kilgariff - General Manager, Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay - Oman says, "Our Signature dishes reflect the personal pride of Omani culture and tradition and contributes to the personal health and well being, this month it's all about green & organic lifestyle."
