RTA receives a senior Thai delegation

The Public Transport Agency at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) received at its Head Office at Al Muhaisina, a high ranking delegation from Land Transport Dep't in the Thai Kingdom.

The delegation was headed by Ronnauth Tangruamsub, Deputy Director General of Land Transport Dep't in Thailand and the accompanying delegation, including departmental directors & experts representing the said Dep't, some companies engaged in developing public transport sector, and a number of engineering and contracting companies.

The Thai delegation was received by engineer Abdul Aziz Malik, CEO of RTA Dubai Taxi Agency and Acting CEO of Public Transport Agency, along with several directors and managers in the RTA.

The meeting discussed areas of joint cooperation, and highlighted the need to develop mutual relationships between RTA Public Transport Agency and the Thai Land Transport Dep't.

They also explored ways & means to cement and upgrade these ties to serve interests of both parties.

"We are pleased with the visit of the Thai delegation; representing the biggest organization overseeing public transport sector and land transport in Thailand" said Abdul Aziz Malik. We hope this visit will be a turning point towards furthering bilateral cooperation and pave the way for developing several strategic initiatives & projects spanning public transport sector. RTA stands ready to cooperate and share experience with Thailand in all fields related to public transport.

"RTA and affiliated agencies are always seeking to promote relations and widen the scope of cooperation with their counterparts across the globe. This will enable us exchange expertise, introduce the latest technology, and benchmark our growth with other countries & cities with similar environmental, geographical, and economic profiles"


said the CEO of Dubai Taxi Agency and Acting CEO of Public Transport Agency.

Mr. Ronnauth Tangruamsub, Deputy Director General of Land Transport Dep't in Thailand lauded the projects currently undertaken by the RTA and the urbanization boom witnessed by Dubai in service, tourist, real estate and other vital sectors.

During the meeting a movie was played to showcase the Organizational Chart of Public Transport Agency, the current number of public buses, growth rate, projects, and strategic initiatives; such as the air-conditioned bus shelters currently in the making by the RTA in conjunction with a specialized company in the field of advertisement.

The presentation also included Bus Priority Lanes and other key projects capable of accelerating multi-modal integration in public transport sector in the emirate of Dubai.

The meeting was attended from the Thai side by H.E. Pasan Teparak, Consul General of Thailand in Dubai, and Tosaporn Arjunaka.

From RTA Public Transport Agency attended engineer Abdullah Yousef, Director of Buses Dep't, Mohammed bin Fahad, Manager of Bus Information Section & Acting Director of Business Development Dep't, Furat Al Amri, Director of CEO Office, Zuhair Al Saffar, Senior Manager QHSE Office, Ali Murad, Manager of Intelligent Transport Systems Section, and Saeed Al Blooshi, Manager of Event Transport Organizing Section.
