Following a press report stating that Batelco's website was inflected by a virus an intensive investigation was carried out by the company's Internet experts.

"We identified that a small number of news articles on our website contain referral to an independent third party external website, which may have malicious content, outside of Batelco's control,"

said Batelco Group Secretary and Company Spokesperson Ahmed Al Janahi.

"Batelco took immediate action deactivating all links leading to the website as we regard the security and privacy of our customers as a prime concern. Batelco also advised Google of the corrective action and the warning message is expected to be retracted soon," he added.

"Although the Internet is a global open network and the risk of virus is always prevalent we continually encourage all our customers to regularly update their anti-virus and security tools. Batelco would like to reassure all its customers that browsing www.Batelco.com is safe and secure," concluded Mr. Al Janahi.
