Emirates NBD supports Arabian Racing showcase event

Emirates NBD Private Banking clients were among a record crowd of more than 18,000 attending Arabian racing's showcase event at Newbury Racecourse last Sunday held under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The Dubai International Arabian Race Day is the biggest and most prestigious event of its kind in Europe with a programme featuring no fewer than three Group 1 races, including the Emirates NBD Hatta International Stakes, and a prize money offer topping £96,000.

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance & Industry, is one of the world's leading owners and breeders of Arabian horses and his colours were carried to victory in four of the day's seven races.

Emirates NBD used the occasion to entertain UK based private banking clients who enjoyed first class facilities, fine dining and panoramic views of the course from the balcony of the private suite on the fourth floor of the Berkshire Stand overlooking the winning post.

The gala lunch was hosted by Sulamain Al Mazroui, Executive Vice-President, Group Marketing who also presented trophies to the connections of the winner of the Emirates NBD Hatta International Stakes.

The Dubai International Arabian Race Day is the culmination of a three-day meeting, and visitors on Saturday and Sunday had the opportunity to view the Emirates NBD stand which formed part of an elaborate exhibition dedicated to the promotion of tourism, commerce and culture in Dubai.

The Emirates NBD Hatta International Stakes was won by Magadir, a four-year-old filly trained in Qatar by Georgina Ward for HH Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani and ridden by top international jockey, Alan Munro.
