Rapid development in sectors including energy, banking, government services, transport and hospitality are all creating significant "Greenfield" investments in technology solutions, as companies look to build the infrastructure to support a growing number of customers and employees.

In the field of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software alone - solutions designed to manage information regarding a company's interaction with customers and prospective customers - growth rates in investment surged by 40% in 2007, according to international research group Gartner.

Major names in the business solutions industry, including Microsoft Dynamics, are looking to capitalise on this global growth with a strong presence at Gitex Technology Week, which runs from 19 - 23 October 2008 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

"We're very pleased to see so many major industry leaders in business technology using the Gitex Technology Week platform and particularly delighted that a significant number of these pioneers are looking to use the event to launch new and bespoke solutions for Middle East industries,"

said Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre, organiser of Gitex Technology Week.

Globally, the CRM market is now worth $8.1bn - an increase of 23.1%, with emerging markets driving overall industry growth.

In 2008, industry leader Microsoft will host a Microsoft Dynamics Partners Community stand in the main exhibition area that will showcase Microsoft Dynamics (ERP and CRM) Business Management Solutions.

Tamer Elhamy, Business Solutions Manager, Microsoft Gulf said: "The company's focus on mid market, enterprise, and corporate customers will be demonstrated through the display of our latest industry solutions. Visitors will have the opportunity to review the recently released products as well as see an exclusive regional preview of the innovative solutions that will be launched in 2009."

"We will also feature vertical solutions for the Middle East market through our Gold Certified partners, conduct industry and product sessions to allow visitors to experience the latest advancements in Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management business applications," he added.

In addition, Microsoft will also host a "Microsoft Day" as part of the Gitex Technology Week Global Conference, showcasing key technology trends and sharing best practices with top decision makers, partners and customers.

The Microsoft Day will include a series of in-depth sessions on topics ranging from enterprise desktop of the future to unified communications, virtualisation and security.

The Gitex Technology Week Global Conference is the region's largest and most high-profile IT forum, attracting senior CIOs and IT professionals from some of the Middle East's most dynamic business and government organisations, as well as developers from the world's leading IT companies.

Over 3,300 companies will be represented at Gitex Technology Week, from more than 80 countries, including over 600 new exhibitors for 2008.

Microsoft will also be present at Gitex Shopper and Consumer Electronics Expo with the Entertainment and Devices Division showcasing the Xbox 360 gaming system and the latest games alongside the new Gitex Game World as well as a host of bundled offers and promotions.

Held at Airport Expo Dubai from 18 - 24 October 2008, Gitex Shopper 2008 promises to be the largest addition to date.
