Omantel profits up 49%

Oman telecom has reported a 49% increase in Q2 profits, driven by lower royalty payments and a decline in costs, according to Bloomberg. Oman last year reduced royalties to 7% from 12% of mobile telephone revenue and from 10% of fixed-line revenue.
