SHUAA was ranked first in Agriculture & Food, Industrial, Retail, Transport & Logistics and Strategy and second in Banking & Finance, Real Estate, Telecoms and Economics.

Euromoney's Middle East Research poll is the only such survey of equity research in the region.

Institutional fund managers were polled by Euromoney between April and June and asked to rank the top 5 most respected research teams in each sector.

Their scores were then weighted taking into account the size of the institution's assets under management.

Fund managers polled were principally from the Middle East, but also included representatives from Western Europe, Central & Eastern Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia.

Mr. Iyad Duwaji, Chief Executive Officer of SHUAA Capital said:

"These awards are particularly pleasing as they have been voted for by our clients and are a true indication of our quality and breadth of research capability. SHUAA remain the first company to cover UAE and GCC companies starting in 2001 and having such an award demonstrates SHUAA leadership position in the financial industry today despite the emergence of new players. I would like to congratulate our research team for this outstanding achievement."

Mr. Walid Shihabi, Head of Research, SHUAA Capital commented: "These awards acknowledge our competitive edge being from the region and for the region. Our deep commitment and understanding of the GCC and the Arab world will remain a key differentiating factor to our clients despite the fast changing economic landscape. We have the finest research team in the Middle East with over 15 professionals and we shall continue to offer the highest quality research on companies and markets across the Middle East. I would like to thank all those fund managers who voted for SHUAA and for choosing us over competition."
