Daman facilitates new visa process - Visitor's Plan

As per Ministerial Decision No. 322/2008, which affects all applications for visit visas in the UAE, The National Health Insurance Company- Daman launches its Visitor's Plan to facilitate visa applications' procedures after receiving the necessary authorization.

According to the new changes to the national visa system, several different types are now available for visitors.

As of 1st of August, it has become mandatory under the newly implemented visa regulations to show proof of health insurance.

The new Visitor's Plan has been specifically designed to provide emergency In-patient healthcare insurance for any visitor, which facilitates the visa application process as well as the visitor's stay in the UAE,'

'Three insurance-packages are ready for immediate use with competitive and affordable prices so to further provide some peace of mind for the visitors.'

Dr. Michael added that the validity of this heath insurance policy will be terminated with the expiry of the visa and Daman will not be responsible for any emergency medical coverage exceeding the visa period.

Emergency Inpatient and Day Treatment:
• Accommodation type - Shared Room
• Hospital Accommodation & Services - 100% at Network Providers only
• Consultant's Surgeon's & Anesthetist's Fees, etc - 100% at Network Providers only
• Ambulance for an emergency leading to hospital confinement only - 100% covered
• Pharmaceuticals during hospitalization only - 100% at Network Providers only
• Physiotherapy and other Rehabilitation therapy during Inpatient treatment only - 100% at Network Providers only
• Post Traumatic dental treatment (accidental during the policy within UAE only) - 100% at Network Providers only
General Exclusion:
• Dental/Maternity/Optical/Treatment out of Network - Not covered
• Healthcare Services which are not medically necessary - Not covered
• All elective and/or non-emergency medical condition - Not covered
• Any Health Services received as out-of-hospital benefits - Not covered
• All pre-existing and/or chronic medical conditions - Not covered
(Acute exacerbation of pre-existing and chronic medical conditions will be covered in Emergency Room only)
• Healthcare Services performed by Non-Authorized Healthcare Service Providers apart from Healthcare Services rendered in a Medical Emergency - Not covered
• Mental Health diseases, Inpatient treatments, unless the condition is a transient mental disorder or an acute reaction to stress - Not covered
• Patient treatment supplies - Not covered
• Air or Terrestrial Medical evacuation for Non-Emergency cases or unauthorized transportation services - Not covered

Daman defines 'Emergency' as the acute onset of a medical or surgical condition manifested by acute symptoms of sufficient severity, including pain, that the absence of immediate treatment at Health Facility could reasonable be expected to result in placing the patient's health or bodily functions in serious jeopardy or dysfunction of any body organ or part.
