Xpert Learning launches new e-learning program for GPIC

E-Learning, in fact, is the new mantra for most major GCC companies situated in the region, its popular and in demand than ever before.

GPIC marked a new milestone in the Kingdom of Bahrain last month. GPIC and Xpert Learning partnered up to make history for the company.

Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company was established in December 1979 as a joint venture between the government of Bahrain, (SAPIC) Saudi Arabia & (PIC) Kuwait, for the manufacture of fertilizers and petrochemicals. Bahrainis account for 82% of the total workforce in the company.

Training plays a vital role in promoting employee development and learning at GPIC. Paul Gledhill, Director & Co Founder from Xpert Learning launched the new e-learning program for GPIC in the presence of GPIC senior management and employees. GM of GPIC, Mr. Abdul Rahman Jawahery was also personally present during the launch, indicating GPIC's keen interest in the program and the services of Xpert Learning.

The launch included an introduction to Xpert Learning, features of the E-Learning program and courses and hands on training for the system users and the administrators.

Training and development of the company's Bahraini nationals represent a major priority for GPIC's management. Therefore, the company's training policy aims to achieve a progressive integration of Bahraini nationals into its workforce through the implementation of a well-structured and systematic training and career development scheme. The scheme comprises of an effective on-the-job training program, as well as providing development courses in GPIC's Training Center, locally or abroad.

GPIC's e-learning center is a unique initiative and the first in the kingdom using Xpert Learning solutions to promote flexible-time study by employees and trainees to enhance their soft skills and technical knowledge.

GPIC's e-learning center was formally inaugurated on February 2007 under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Abdul-Hussain bin Ali Mirza Minister of Oil and Gas Affairs and President of the National Oil and Gas Authority.
