Philips is the pioneer in motion technology with the introduction of the world's first Motion Engine, Digital Natural Motion (DNM), back in 1989. Today, this technology has been enhanced as High Definition Natural Motion™ (HDNM) and is now available in the 5000, 7000 and 9000 high performance LCD TVs series.

With four times more processing power than the original DNM, HDNM enables the precise calculation and repositioning of moving objects in the new frames it creates, resulting in an ultra smooth, judder-free motion.

Advancing this technology further and installing 500 Million pixels per second processing power, two times more processing power than the HDNM, the Perfect Natural Motion, available exclusively in the 9703 range, delivers multi-directional motion detection and compensation to allow for the smoothest motion in all direction even with very fast panning scenes and the cleanest motion, without any halo effect around the moving object.

Fast LCD Panel for blur-free motion performance

The new Philips Full HD 1080p LCD TVs addresses motion blur inherent in LCD panels by incorporating OverDrive Control in the LCD panel to accelerate the speed of electron switching in the liquid crystals. The result is the remarkable, pristine clean, blur-free motion performance with 5ms response time.

High refresh rates for sharper movements and deeper blacks

The addition of 100Hz ClearLCD™ technology greatly improves detail and sharpness, offering razor-sharp moving images with an ultra-fast motion response time of 2 milliseconds in the 9703 series range.

By doubling the picture refresh rate from the standard 50Hz, these sets deliver swift, streak-free action to elevate image quality and clarity, rendering them the world's fastest LCD performance that produces unrivaled clarity and detail.

The new high performance Philips LCD TVs series set a new standard in sound performance by featuring audio specifications typically not found on most LCD TVs available today - including a built-in 30-watt RMS hi-power digital amplifier on all of the models across the entire range, and new acoustic chambers comparable to those found in hi-fi speakers.

Rich vocals and enhanced bass are delivered via the large acoustic chambers that house the high efficiency loudspeaker units. In terms of design, they are mounted out of sight on the back of the TV sub-frame so that the eye is always drawn to the panel displaying the picture, not the speakers.
