The Agreement comprises the administrative clauses recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for its member states, and it also includes all the precepts of the European Union regulations on the negotiation and implementation of agreements involving air transport services.

The Agreement implies a great advance compared to its predecessors, as the UAE authorities have, according to the source, accepted the European clauses mentioned above.

The documents attached to the Agreement comprise a series of air routes that can be operated by the companies appointed by both countries. The Spanish appointees will be able to operate air routes from Spain to the UAE, whereas the appointed Emirati enterprises will be able to operate routes from the UAE to six different points in Spain.
