Autodesk denies signing license agreement with Jordan Engineers Association
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, August 10 - 2008 at 12:16
- PRESS RELEASE
Autodesk, the world leader in 2D and 3D design software for the manufacturing, building, and media and entertainment markets, has denied signing any license agreement with Jordan Engineering Association (JEA), contrary to an announcement recently made by the organization.
A series of discussions and meetings in Amman and Dubai had taken place, wherein Autodesk and JEA deliberated on an agreement that will give an opportunity to JEA members to benefit from distinctive pricing of Autodesk solutions.
However, no final agreement has been reached between the two parties; hence the benefits given in the agreement for the member companies have not taken effect.
Autodesk officials have refuted a recent announcement made by JEA citing a live agreement with the leading design company, and reiterate that it is not under any obligations with JEA with regard to the legal distribution of its software and applications.
"Autodesk has a strong and successful relationship with JEA that has developed over the years, and this had prompted us to invest a considerable effort into negotiating a unique deal with them," said Ahmad Al Jasim, Regional Manager, Autodesk Middle East.
"The offer that Autodesk had made was devised with their best interests in mind, as it was an offer that had never been provided by Autodesk to any customer in any other part of the world."
As part of its support to the Jordanian authorities' efforts in decreasing the piracy rate in the Kingdom, Autodesk is currently running an extensive promotional campaign until October 2008 with all its partners and resellers encouraging the legal use of its products and the advantages of using genuine Autodesk products within the booming Jordanian construction market.
