The CSR program, designed as a leadership exercise with a communal and humanitarian premise, has been exclusively shaped to perform by the graduates of the Dubai Leaders Program, a development initiative that aims to create and nurture a cadre of highly qualified management personnel to take up senior leadership positions at Dubai World.

Under the Rad-Al-Jameel program, selected alumni from the first and second batches of the Dubai Leaders Program will be divided into eight groups of seven people. Each group, headed by a team leader nominated by the members of the group, will be required to conceptualise, strategise and implement a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility plan to raise money for specific targeted charity groups caring for the disabled, the poor, psychiatric patients, orphans, and others leading up to and during Ramadan.

Speaking about the new program, Bedoor Khouri, Manager - Dubai World Leadership Centre, said:

"The Rad-Al-Jameel Corporate Social Responsibility Program recognises the importance of a well-balanced and customised leadership development exercise. The initiative seeks to prepare leaders who are capable of strategic creativity and implementing affirmative change in society. The real-world challenges undertaken by the participants will not only benefit their overall development as leaders and responsible citizens, but will also raise considerable funds for our local charities during the Holy Month of Ramadan."

"Dubai World Leadership Center is excited to be part of this effort and we look forward to the teams' projects and to see the progress made in key areas. We expect the teams to come up with plans of the highest standards by applying what they learnt from their participation in the Dubai Leaders Program. It is a great opportunity for the Dubai Leaders Program alumni to support our community and we are confident that they will meet and go beyond our expectations by making truly meaningful contribution to the society."

Each of the competing teams must complete fund-raising activity during the four weeks of Ramadan. Moreover, the teams will have two weeks to develop the project proposal, one week for project revision and approval, in addition to two more weeks to prepare and execute their plan.

Teams will then present their real-life corporate social responsibility experience, the collection report, the learning and project outcome to panel of judges, sponsors, media and charity organisations.

The best team will be honoured at an award ceremony in October.
