Dubai Municipality 'Managers on Air' initiative gets underway

Managers on Air, a new Dubai Municipality initiative to facilitate interaction between senior officials of the civic body with the general public over telephone, will get underway 12 August from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
Today, members of the public can dial toll free 800 4 999 and talk to Ahmed AbdulKarim, Director of Public Parks and Horticulture Department.
On Wednesday, 27 August, Director of Food Control Department, Khalid Mohammed Shareef, and senior officials from the department will attend to the calls. Members of the public and the trading community can talk to them on 800 4 999 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
"We will facilitate an easy and smooth interaction between the public and the officials by using an advanced calls management system with a group of experienced and friendly staff from the Corporate Marketing and Relations Department, Customer Relations Department, Administrative Services Section and the hosting department in each session," Khalid AbdelRahim, Director of Customer Relations Department, said.
He added that this initiative is aimed at bringing Dubai Municipality closer to the public and eliciting their valuable comments and feedback on the civic services and projects.
"This initiative has been discussed in detail at a recent meeting of the municipality's senior management who offered all support for the move as this can go a long way in accomplishing a higher level of customer satisfaction," AbdelRahim said.
The service would be offered on a rotation basis to the public from those department that have direct relations with external customers such as Public Parks and Horticulture Department, Food Control Department, Public Health Services Department, Waste Management Department and Environment Department.
He added that the comments, suggestions and grievances raised by members of the public would be taken seriously and all efforts would be made by Dubai Municipality to correct the flaws and simplify procedures for availing each and every service offered by its various departments.
He urged all those interested in availing this initiative to call the above-mentioned toll free number during the specific days and for any clarification or more information, they can dial the 24/7 general inquiries number: 800900.
