Second Oman fixed line by year end

The operator for Oman's second fixed-line telephone service will be announced by the end of 2008. Bids are being accepted until August 25. The licence, with the exception of broadband spectrum rights, is for 25 years and can be renewed. Broadband spectrum rights will be for 15 years and can be renewed for an additional 10 years, on expiry of the original term.
