Etisalat Mobile Business Data service powers customer convenience for Emirates NBD

Etisalat today announced a further expansion of its mobile business data service initiatives with Emirates NBD bank using Etisalat's services to power its Point of Sale (POS) terminals for credit/debit card transactions through its Mobile Data network.

Emirates NBD merchants across industries including the hotel industry are using the service to deliver a faster and more convenient experience for customers so that they can have their card payments processed wherever they are rather than being subjected to the inconvenience of waiting to pay at a long queue.

The Mobile POS terminal transaction is processed in the Etisalat NBD private Mobile IP network, and then through the bank's card processing network, to identify the card user, the merchant and approve the purchase. The service allows Emirates NBD to offer their merchants point of sale devices that are ready to use as soon as the merchants request for it with no delays as Mobile point of sale takes only a few hours to provision and requires no preparation from the merchant side.

Etisalat's mobile business data service is extremely relevant for businesses as the service offers secure IP connections in any location that the customer wishes with any number of IP connections that can be provided to the customer in a few hours thereby facilitating instant connectivity. The service allows corporate customers to have any time any where IP connection whether these requirements are for in-office or on-the-move use.

Etisalat's mobile business data service is built over Etisalat's latest Mobile IP technology using its 3.5G HSDPA network that allows Mobile IP Communication for a variety of applications on speeds up to 7.2Mbps.
