The signing ceremony was held at Shell Development Oman (SDO) office yesterday and it was attended by officials from DHL Oman and SDO.
Dr, Andy Wood, Shell Country Chair and General Manager commented,
"We are delighted to have tied up with a leading organization like DHL. Indeed, DHL support for Intilaaqah Awards will ensure efficient distribution and collection of the awards application forms at the designated locations."
Commenting on the event Geoff Walsh, DHL Express Country Manager said "DHL acknowledges and recognize the important role entrepreneurs play in the development of the local economy and we are delight to be part of a national entrepreneurship competition."
It has been 5 years since the award was first launched. It concentrates on local businesses that have been in operation for at least 1 year and have shown sustainability and growth. Winners of the award enjoy a variety of prizes including cash money, continuous counseling and promotional opportunities. Every year more than one hundred business owners from different regions of the Sultanate of Oman compete to win the award.
Aside from the award, Intilaaqah provides training workshops and counseling services for local entrepreneurs. The program has continuously received support from many organizations including National Bank of Oman, Oman International Bank, Bank Muscat, Oman Air, Sanad Program, Sultan Qaboos University and Knowledge Oasis Muscat.
