TRA's Ahmed Aldoseri promoted to ICT Operations Manager

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) is dealing with a growing number of issues surrounding the regulation of Providers of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).

Issues which touch on the lives of all within Bahrain such as protection of personal data transmitted across communications networks, ensuring choice of providers to consumers, ensuring open and fair competition between providers and in particular ensuring customers are not overcharged.

The TRA General Director Mr. Alan Horne said:
"Technological changes, convergence of services and the move towards the combined regulation of ICT in the telecommunications and internet sector, require TRA to be supported by talented ICT staff. TRA needs the very best in the industry in order to ensure consumers obtain the most advanced services from a growing competitive market of ICT Providers. To this end we are pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Ahmed Aldoseri to ICT Operations Manager in our team. Ahmed's promotion comes as a result of his combined experience within the ICT field, approach to work and achievements within TRA."


Mr. Aldoseri is currently preparing for his Master's degree in Strategic Business Information Technology in University of Portsmouth, and has 9 years of experience in the ICT field. He joined TRA in 2007 as a Specialist Technical Advisor before this promotion.

Commenting on his promotion, Mr. Aldoseri said:
"I am grateful for the trust that has been placed upon me and I hope that I remain a positively contributing member of TRA's team, to support the development of competition and wider choice of telecommunications services for consumers. I would like to thank my colleagues at TRA for their support, and I look forward to the challenges ahead."
