RTA stages a two-day blood donation campaign
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, August 14 - 2008 at 10:59
- PRESS RELEASE
In an effort to enhance its commitment to various segments of the community, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has recently teamed up with Blood Transfusion & Research Dep't in the emirate of Sharjah to stage a blood donation campaign.
Najeeb Al-Zarooni, Director of Parking Dep't said that RTA was always keen to promote effective involvement in a number of social and human events & initiatives which will boost the partnership with various community sectors & institutions such as hospitals and medical establishments.
"The campaign was widely received by Parking Dep't inspectors and huge numbers turned up for blood donation. This reflects the sense of high responsibility on the part of parking inspectors towards the community. In particular it demonstrates their care for noble human activities and devotion to lend support to the sick admitted to hospitals; who are needy of every single blood drop donated by others.
"Doctors and scientists keep advising healthy people to donate blood from time to time as it purges human bodies, protects from illnesses they are unaware of, strengthens their immunity systems and refreshes their bodies. Moreover, blood donation is a noble human service that fosters the social fabric and offers a badly needed support to patients and peoples injured in traffic accidents who lost huge amounts of blood. Moreover, it provides vital support to women suffering antenatal bleeding, pre-born or newly born babies suffering some diseases that require blood transfusion, and other related cases.
"Blood donation after all is a human practice intended to assist patients and injured people through which the donor seeks to please Allah i.e. this gracious act is a dignified duty performed in anticipation of God reward.
Donors praised this regal human gesture and hailed the relentless & keen efforts of the RTA and affiliated agencies to apply the best practices in this vital aspect, which plays a considerable role in boosting the image of the RTA across the community; particularly the human cause.
