The project involves the construction of 1,244 housing units for employees of Qatar Petroleum and its subsidiaries, and will include an international school, kindergarten, and a power sub-station, which will be painted using Jotun's high quality interior, exterior and flooring paint products.

Through this high profile project, the leading paint manufacturer is seeking to further strengthen its presence within the booming Qatari paint market.

For the interior paint requirements of the project, paint professionals from Jotun have identified its PVA Primer, Stucco and Fenomastic products as the ideal combination to achieve the desired look, which will provide a luxurious and elegant wall finish.

Headlining the range of external paints for the project are the Jotashield Penetrating Primer and the Jotashield Tex Ultra, which combines concrete protection with anti-carbonation and elastomeric properties.

Floors throughout the entire project will be coated with Jotafloor Solvent Free Primer, Jotafloor Glass Flake, Jotafloor Anti Slip Aggregate and the Jotafloor PU Topcoat.

"This project is part of our growing presence in Qatar, which is aimed at reinforcing the growth of its construction and real estate markets through the advantages of our high quality paint and coating products," said Gunnar Eikebu, Branch Manager, Jotun Paints.

"By using Jotun Paints, developers and construction companies can be assured that they are using the highest quality products in the market today, to address the rising demand for superior quality projects by today's meticulous customers."

The emergence of large-scale developments in Qatar, which is being bolstered by its booming oil and gas sector, has been driving the country's growth as one of the leading paint markets in the region.

The significant potential of this market has driven Jotun to partner with more developers within Qatar, which is rapidly diversifying from being an oil-driven economy to a multifaceted one.

At present, the paint manufacturer has undertaken a number of important projects in the country, including the Khalifa Sports Stadium redevelopment, in addition to several landmark developments across the globe, such as the Eiffel Tower, Burj Al Arab, China Opera house and Nile City Complex.

"By working with the largest developers and construction companies and delivering top-quality paint and coating solutions, we are expecting to steadily move towards achieving our goals for an aggressive growth in the region. Our commitment to the regional market is reiterated by our continuous product development initiatives and our ever-growing portfolio of globally and regionally projects, whose protective and decorative paint requirements are sufficiently addressed by our range of high quality paint products," concluded Eikebu.
