Speaking on the event, FranExcel Sales Director Nick Boury said:
"We had a fantastic show and it was great to get so much attention and interest from this very important franchise market. Malaysian brands are very well received in the Middle East, especially those which are Halal and follow Islamic fundamentals in their operations."
Boury added, "This year's event has grown from 2007 and this is witnessed by the rise in the number and value of trade deals signed at the show, which I understand was near to $80m, which is truly amazing. We certainly felt the show was excellent and we will definitely be back here in 2009."
FranExcel also promoted its international franchise publication, The Franchise Marketplace, at the event, to a welcoming audience. Already representing a number of Malaysian franchise brands globally, FranExcel expects to add to their marketing portfolio as a direct result of the show.
The franchise market in Malaysia has grown from strength to strength in recent years and franchise operators in the country receive very strong support, from a grass roots level, from the Malaysian government. With a full franchise regulation system, Malaysia is considered one of the most advanced and franchise-friendly nations in Asia.
