Aramex appoints Chief Sustainability and Compliance Officer

Hattar's main priorities in his new role include leading key economic, environmental and social corporate sustainability projects, as well as integrating these initiatives internally across the network through training programs and systems.

In addition to overseeing a range of CSR initiatives, Hattar will be directly responsible for monitoring Aramex's participation in the UN Global Compact Initiative and other international human development treaties.

Hattar started his 18-year career with Aramex as an IT Manager before becoming head of the company's Customer Relationship Management team, which oversees the performance and quality of the entire global network.

Since then, he has been involved in a number of key milestones, including the development of Aramex's first Corporate Sustainability Report, the first of its kind in the region, the support of the Ruwwad initiative which aims at empowering underprivileged communities, and the introduction of Hybrid cars into the company's fleet.

Aramex has set ambitious targets in its drive towards sustainability, among them a carbon-neutral status, zero safety incidents, and the elimination of leaded gas consumption.
