  • Iran: Thursday, August 21 - 2008 at 08:29

Authorities in Iran have banned an Iranian actress on her way to Hollywood from leaving the country, the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported. Golshifteh Farahani, who had a starring role in Ridley Scott's latest movie 'Body of Lies,' was at Tehran's airport on her way to the US to study a new acting offer in Hollywood. Iranian movie stars need to request permission from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to play in foreign productions, the news agency said. The ministry hasn't yet commented on the news of Farahani's appearance in Scott's film or her being banned from leaving the country, it said.
