SEDD concluded a summer training program for Sharjah's students

Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has concluded a summer training course for 20 students various educational levels at the emirate's universities, Higher Colleges of Technology and schools.
They trainees were able to learn working habits, as well as to blend the theory with the application to enhance the meaningfulness of the learning process, leading the students to be innovative at the classrooms and successful in their future jobs, while giving a unique opportunity for pre-university students to understand the nature of work place in order to redefine their future studies accordingly.
The program also aimed at providing the opportunity for UAE national students to utilize leisure time efficiently - in activities related to both of their studies and future jobs. This learning experience will help students to make informed decisions about their future careers.
Students were given opportunities to develop the work habits, attitudes and job skills necessary for a successful transition from college to the workplace. The focus of the training was on such values as commitment, punctuality, shouldering responsibility and teamwork.
Trainees joined the four SEDD's departments and branches in accordance with their fields of study. The Registration and Licensing Department and its sections (the Trade Names Section, the Ladies Section and the Cancelling and Fixing License Section), have received a number of trainees, while others were divided into three sections of the Economic Relations and Public Relations Departments.
These sections are the Media and Public Relations Section, the Sales and Promotions Section and the Client Services Section.
The Department of Finance and Administrative Affairs has received the third group of students, who were divided into its two sections, the Financial Affairs Section and the Administrative Affairs Section. The Commercial Control and Protection Sections received the fourth group of students and divided them among its three sections, the Legal Affairs Section, the Khorfakkan branch and the Industrial Area branch.
The trainees had been guided through the basics of establishing their own successful enterprises and encouraged to adopt creative and innovative thinking through all phases of business development, from planning to production. The program aims at preparing a new generation of entrepreneurs. The students were presented with a certificate of achievement at the end of the course.
