Gulf Medical University introduces Doctor of Dental Medicine for first time in Middle East

The unique program is the first of its kind in the entire Middle East.

The aims and objectives of the course would be to educate students to become competent dentists with fundamental knowledge in biomedical and behavioral sciences.

The graduate dentists will be competent to deliver comprehensive dental care and will practice dentistry with the highest level of ethical and moral standards.

The curriculum will emphasize on the importance of research and encourage student participation in research activities.

The Predoctoral program consists of a five year program (10 semesters) & a clinical internship of one year duration which is mandatory.

GMU is recognized and approved as an institution for higher education by the Ministry of Higher Education, UAE. GMC is listed in WHO Directory of Medical Schools and also listed in IMED Directory. The main aim is to impart quality medical education. This is the first University, which offers admissions to both boys and girls of all nationalities. It has an international faculty and a student cohort from 44 nations.

The Admissions for the following programs has already started, Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Physical Therapy (BPT), Doctor of Dental Medicine-DMD and Doctor of Pharmacy - Pharm.D. GMU is glad to announce the following new courses Masters in Clinical Pathology (2 years), Masters in Public Health and Primary Care (2 years), Masters in Toxicology (2 years), Diploma in Public Health and Primary Care (1 year) & Diploma in Toxicology (1 year) planned to start in January 2009 subject to approval from Ministry of Higher education and scientific Research - UAE.

Registration and admissions are open for 2008 - 2009.
