The agreement between the two parties will develop and enhance cooperation between the CNIA and NYPD in the field of critical infrastructure protection, as well as expand on efforts to share information and expertise in matters of security.

The signing of the MOU comes after the visit of H.H Staff Colonel Pilot Sheikh Ahmed Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of CNIA, to the New York Police Department earlier this year.

The aim of the agreement is to bolster cooperation and information exchange in both security and critical infrastructure protection between the CNIA and NYPD.

'We in CNIA are proud of the alliance that we have formed with the NYPD. We are confident that with this partnership, we will be able to forge new ties of cross-cultural understanding between us. We will work together towards broadening the knowledge base of our authority,'

said His Excellency Staff Colonel Engineer Muhair Al Khateri, Director General of CNIA.

As part of the alliance, both parties hope to coordinate on matters of security expertise, best practices for training, risk management, intelligence, operations and administration.

'I believe that it is the beginning of a positive relationship. We hope this alliance will foster an exchange of information and training to improve security,' said NYPD Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly.
