LG continues EISA winning streak with two awards for 2008-2009

The LG HT953TV is to be designated the European Home Theater System 2008-2009, and the LG T80 will be named the European Personal Media Player 2008-2009 at an official ceremony to be held at IFA Berlin on August 29, 2008.

Started in 1982, the EISA Award has become the most prestigious honor for consumer electronics manufacturers in Europe. The award is presented annually for new products that combine state-of-the-art technology, functional features and ergonomic design. EISA identifies the features most likely to be appreciated by a technology-aware public seeking high quality and creative products. LGE previously won three EISA Awards in 2007 for its dual format HD player, Chocolate Micro DVD Compact System, and Touch Screen MP3 Player.

This year, EISA recognized LG's HT953TV and T80 for their exquisite combination of technology and design, sure to appeal to high-tech enthusiasts.

LGE Home Theater System (HT953TV): European Home Theater System 2008-2009

This LGE high-end home cinema system delivers powerful 1,000W output in a stylish design. LG HT953TV has been specially tuned by Mark Levinson, the guru of high-end audio systems, to ensure maximum audio quality. LGE's exclusive Virtual Sound Matrix (VSM) technology provides the ultimate surround sound experience when watching movies or listening to music.

The LG HT953TV also uses five speakers to replicate a virtual 10.1Ch sound effect and enhance audio quality without distorting the original sound. And it comes with a sophisticated design, soft curved speakers and aesthetically pleasing touch panel control in glossy piano black with touchpad navigation. LG's SIMPLINK technology lets users search AV input automatically on the flat screen with a single remote. The system includes an iPod connection and is compatible with DivX, DVDs, MP3,WMA and JPEG.

LGE Touch DVB Mobile TV (T80): European Personal Media Player 2008-2009
The T80 personal media player sports a 3.0-inch WQVGA Display (400X240) with aesthetically-pleasing touch screen. At just 13.1mm thick, this is the slimmest MP3 player with mobile-TV access. The new in-ear type earphones are specially tuned by Mark Levinson to produce exceptional sound quality that faithfully reproduces the original in every detail.

The 160-degree viewing angle enables multiple viewers to share movies in tight spaces. Excellent picture quality is also delivered through LGE's proprietary Mobile XD Engine. The T80 is compatible with WMA, WAV, OGG and AVI thanks to a conversion program developed in-house and offers a full suite of multimedia functions, including video playback, photo viewer, FM radio, games and text editing.

LGE has won EISA awards by developing multimedia products distinguished for both technology and design each of the past two years. Last year, LGE's HD player (BH100), compact system (FB163), and personal media player (FM37) were recipients of the prestigious awards.
