The university welcomes its new students on both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses.
The student body at Abu Dhabi University consists out of 45 different nationalities; 46% local students and 54% from different nationalities.
H.E. Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, the ADU Chairman of the Executive Board, noted that the university has completed all preparations for the new academic year and it is geared up to welcome its students on both campuses.
The university has completed full maintenance of all labs, training halls, libraries, and scientific work areas.
Bin Harmal announced that ADU is proud to offer 26 Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs as follows:

Bin Harmal pointed out that ADU has employed 55 new members, which include staff and faculty, to assume duties on both campuses for the new academic year.
The number of new appointments brings ADU's total faculty compliment to a significantly increased number of 210.
ADU has also completed the preparation of its on-campus Faculty and Staff accommodation, which consists out of 104 apartments equipped with a variety of services, located on the Abu Dhabi Campus.
Bin Harmal also noted that over 1000 new students have been accepted for study at ADU based on ADU's rigorous admissions requirements.
The university has a set of admission requirements which all students should adhere to and comply with.
All new students have been selected for admission based on the following requirements:
1. Students who have Academic IELTS average 5.0/9.0 or Internet Based Toefl (IBT) average 61 are admitted to the University College of Abu Dhabi University.
2. Students with Internet Based Toefl (IBT less than 61) can be placed in the ELI levels according to the result they have received. Students with Academic IELTS with score less than 5 cannot be admitted to the ELI levels of Abu Dhabi University.
3. Students who apply to ADU without satisfying the English requirement (Acad. IELTS 5.0 or IBT 61) can take the ADU Placement Test (Institutional Toefl and Writeplacer). The student has to get a result in the Institutional Toefl of 500 / 650 and result of the Writeplacer of 5 / 7 to be admitted to the University College of Abu Dhabi University. If the student gets below those averages that was assigned by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research both or one of them then he will be admitted to the English Levels of the English Language Institute of Abu Dhabi University as per the scores he received. The booking for the English placement exam is arranged by the Admissions Office of ADU (students can make the booking in coordination with Mr. Hatem from the Admissions Office).
Dr. Nabil A. Ibrahim, the ADU Chancellor, noted that the university's admission policy is based on quality, not quantity.
ADU insists on creating a student centric environment during the new academic year, taking into consideration the number of student in each class and all other factors affecting the performance of the students.
Dr. Nabil also highlighted the fact that the number of honor students (students with an over all average of 75% and above) at ADU is increasing from year to year - during the first graduation year, the number of honor students was about 40% of the existing student body, compared to the most recent year, where the number of honor students increased to 65% of the student body.
A total increase of 13%.
The ADU Chancellor added that the Orientation day for new students will start on the 26th of August 2008, which will consist out of a conference and an advising program focused on study plans, rules and regulations which will effect the performance of the students during the year, in addition to a campus tour and an introduction to the activities and scholarship programs offered to students during their studies.
Abu Dhabi University gears up for new academic year
Classes are set to start at Abu Dhabi University for the 2008 / 2009 academic year on the 7th of September 2008.
