RTA announces its intention to formulate joint council

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced its intention to formulate a joint council between Dubai Taxi Agency and a number of its strategic partners who represent various service and trade sectors.

This is in order to boost the framework of joint cooperation, strengthen the bilateral relations and create new communication channels between the two sides.

This was told in a dinner gathering organized by the Dubai Taxi Agency recently in Al Bustan Rotana Hotel.

The event was attended by Abdulaziz Malik CEO of Dubai Taxi Agency and a number of directors and managers of the Agency along with a large number of representatives for (100) strategic partners who represent different sectors including taxi franchise companies operating under the umbrella of Dubai Taxi Agency, in addition to vehicles and spare parts suppliers, clothing companies, which provide the uniforms for taxi drivers, devices and equipment suppliers whose tools the Agency utilize in its service centers and workshops, the companies conducting the field studies and surveys the Agency consults in developing the its work mechanism, Etisalat, the health insurance company, the public auction companies, tires and batteries suppliers, cleaning and maintenance companies, advertising agencies and pharmacies that provide first aid kits and others.

In his welcoming speech, Abdul Aziz Malik CEO of Dubai Taxi Agency reaffirmed the profoundness of the bilateral relations between Dubai Taxi Agency and its strategic partners and significance of these relations to expand and develop the services provided by the Agency to taxi riders in Dubai including the UAE nationals, residents, visitors and tourists, consistent with Dubai's reputed position as a regional economic center and a point of attraction for investors and businessmen from various countries around the world.

He said that the RTA aims through a number of its strategic projects to cover up 95% of Dubai and raise the proportion of trips made by the mass transit to 30% through providing alternatives of public transport modes characterized by high quality and cost-effectiveness, in addition to raising the awareness and changing the prevailing social view over the use of mass transit, and achieve the integration in this sector by linking the public buses with marine transport, taxis and the metro in one unified network.

Mr. Malik praised the support provided by the strategic partners to the RTA saying:
"I would also like to thank you for your constant support to the efforts made by the RTA to find the solutions and programs to alleviate the traffic congestion in the emirate of Dubai, through a number of the strategic initiatives by which we all hope to succeed in ensuring our goals and objectives that certainly add to Dubai's record of achievements on all fronts, thanks to the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. He per se wished all the best to the parties seeking to accomplish these noble goals, including the business community so as to achieve the prosperity and comfortable living for different social cross-sections of the UAE in general and Dubai's in particular."


During the gathering, Mr. Mohamed Abdulaziz, Manager of the Quality, Health and Safety Office at the Dubai Taxi Agency delivered a presentation through which he highlighted the current bilateral relations with the strategic partners and ways of promoting them to broader horizons, including the formation of the Joint Council with strategic partners and involve them in the decision-making, in addition to setting up a mechanism for evaluating their performance, through the Performance Scorecards, and the need to organize on-site visits to their headquarters. This will undoubtedly expand and strengthen the ties of bilateral relations and activate the existing partnership between the two sides.
