H.E. Sultan Saeed Al Badi, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department Undersecretary and head of the committee said that the new programme will play a major role in enhancing the productivity of the staff of the commercial court.
The training will be delivered by international experts. The initiative is part of a larger programme that has been designed along international best practices.
Speaking at a meeting at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department headquarters, Al Badi said the programme which will start in the first week of October will tackle topics like case management, alternative Dispute Resolution, construction contracts, banking operations, complicated court cases, insurance and brokerages. The Department has adopted global best practices by visiting advanced countries like Singapore and Ireland, in an effort to develop the Commercial Court in Abu Dhabi in line with the laws in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE in general.
The steering committee is developing the framework for the commercial court through regular meetings with the officials of the court to review performance. The committee's recommendations have emphasised the need for establishing committees of judges, law professors, prosecution members and lawyers to look closely at the changes in specialised laws and study their implementation here. The committee also stressed the importance of Emiratising the cadre of experts at the court.
