The 14 inch Tecra M10 is a laptop for professionals who travel more often and do not want to compromise between mobility and performance.
All new laptops combine robust durability and quality, high performance and cutting edge connectivity. The new range of laptops will be available in the third quarter of 2008.
"Productivity, total cost of ownership, quality and durability are key to any company to ensure their laptop investment is future proof,"
says Santosh Varghese, regional general manager for Toshiba Gulf's Computer Systems Division.
"By combining the latest advances in mobile computing technologies, the new Tecra laptops respond to these business needs while delivering high and robust quality at a competitive price," Varghese adds.
The latest additions to the Tecra range give users the freedom of choice in terms of the display size, CPU and graphic power; the laptops run on Intel Centrino 2 and will be available with Intel vPro technology, depending on configuration.
The new laptops can be upgraded with up to 8 GB of RAM and offer embedded mobile broadband interfaces such as HSPA supporting up to 7.2/2.0 Mbps. Toshiba offers a solid state drive (SSD) option on the series, allowing customers to choose a 64 or 128 GB memory for enhanced reliability, performance and lower power consumption. Additionally, the new Tecra laptops feature an embedded 1.3 Mpx webcam, Wireless Log-on via Bluetooth, a new eSATA port for achieving faster performance on an external hard drive and a Sleep-and-Charge USB port, enabling
users to charge their mobile devices, such as mobile phones, MP3 players and PDAs whether the computer is on, off, or in sleep or hibernation mode.
All new Tecra laptops feature Toshiba's fourth-generation EasyGuard technology including improved shock protection, a spill resistant keyboard, SmartCard reader and fingerprint reader. In addition to these, the ConfigFree software is also available throughout the range, to provide hassle-free, location-based connectivity for wired and wireless networks.
Furthermore, the new Tecra laptops feature PC Health Monitor software, which monitors several performance elements such as the CPU temperature, fan speed, power consumption and battery health, to track for any PC health issues. The software will then advise the user how to resolve the issue.
As a responsible global corporate citizen, Toshiba ensures that all new laptops are RoHS-compliant, effectively reducing the environmental impact by restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances. The new Tecra laptops are ENERGY STAR 4.0 qualified.
The Tecra range will be available across the region from September 2008.
