RTA female employees visit Dubai International Airport

The Women Committee at the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) organized a visit to Dubai International Airport in an effort to enhance the interaction between the RTA and other government bodies.

Engineer Maitha bin Adai, CEO of Traffic & Roads Agency and Chairwomen of Women Committee, said that the visit serves RTA objective of fostering strategic partnership with other government bodies with a view to exchange information and expertise, and support the role of women in general and RTA female employees in particular.

Bin Adai said:
"The visiting delegation attended to a briefing on the organizational chart of Dubai Airports, services & facilities provided, and future projects. RTA employees were also introduced to the services of other departments operating in the airport such as Dubai Customs, Dubai Police, DNATA, Emirates Airlines, Tourism & Commercial Marketing. They watched a documentary movie on the new Jebel Ali Airport Cargo Zones before making a brief visit to a number of DIA sections; such as Dubai Duty Free."


Bin Adai added, "RTA is seeking to reinforce the role of female employees in the RTA and the community through diffusing the concept of teamwork. This requires an environment which contributes to the development of women, assists with upgrading social, cultural and sports women activities. It also boosts the profile of the RTA in the community through advocating effective social and philanthropic efforts."

"RTA is keeping in place a number of operational projects to consolidate the social role of women, such as promoting educative programs to highlight the role of women in cultural, social & sports fields, as well as preparing & publishing relevant researches, surveys and bulletins. RTA is also seeking to hold forums and courses in various fields associated with women work, and organize programs to enhance women participation in related festivities & events," Bin Adai added.

Bin Adai said, "Among the specific objectives of the committee is to propel the role of working women in the RTA and community, promote the spirit of cooperation and team spirit, and provide a work environment that meets leadership aspirations to develop potential women cadres in support of RTA strategic objectives. It also seeks to enhance the image of the RTA through advocating women participation in a wide spectrum of activities undertaken by the committee."

"Supporting competent women cadres and making RTA the first selection of HR is among the strategic goals of the RTA," said Maitha in a concluding remark.
