SCTDA to sponsor Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2008

The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has announced its sponsorship of the 2008 Sharjah Ramadan Festival (SRF).
Sharjah has consolidated its position on the international map of fairs and exhibitions organization, a move that has dramatically boosted its already established leading position on the global tourism map as a favorable tourist destination.
Mr. Mohamed A. Al Noman, Director General of the SCTDA, highlighted the importance of SRF 2008, "The Sharjah Ramadan Festival has elements and components that contribute on a large scale to Sharjah's burgeoning tourist and commercial sectors. The intensive promotional offers included in the festival attract ever greater numbers of tourists from within the region to the emirate," he said.
The SCTDA strives to promote the Emirate of Sharjah and to develop its commerce and tourism sectors by organizing and participating in various activities, using all the marketing tools necessary to promote the emirate on the local, regional and international levels.
Increasing awareness of Sharjah as an international tourist destination is at the top of the SCTDA's agenda.
The SCTDA conducts economic and social studies, marketing and promotion campaigns, and field studies and surveys, with the aim of augmenting the emirate's strength.
The Authority organizes marketing and promotional programs with the ambition of drawing greater local and direct foreign investments into Sharjah's growing markets.
"By promoting and marketing tourism in the emirate, we mean to utilise all the existing channels to develop extensive local, regional and international awareness of the unique attractions in Sharjah. The methods and tools we use may vary, but they serve the same objective, and fulfill the same vision," Al Noman said.
On the local level, the SCTDA is committed to exploring new ways and taking advantage of the existing ways in which the emirate can be promoted, such as through participation in activities that help to achieve its goals.
These events include conferences, exhibitions and various other activities, which offer the SCTDA the ideal environment in which to launch its media and publicity campaigns to promote the emirate of Sharjah.
The SCTDA has developed on many levels in its endeavors to attract international activities and events, which could further boost Sharjah's position on the international map.
