Salah Al-Marzooki, Director of Intelligent Traffic Systems Dep't at RTA Traffic & Roads Agency, commented on the system and said: "RTA is considering linking Salik Account with a number of leading banking institutions such that users can process several Toll Gate transactions through using their own bank channels & accounts, in lines with the cooperation links established with Dubai Islamic Bank and Emirates International Bank."

RTA is to sign agreements with several entities to provide a new package of services capable of uplifting the quality of services deliverable to Salik subscribers.

"RTA is always keen to promote the confidence of customers in the services rendered through upgrading the style and caliber of these services."

An integrated package of interactive services is offered to Salik subscribers, including the website (www.salik.ae), which is attracting huge numbers of visitors as it is readily accessible, and provides the type & volume of information required by web visitors.

Subscribers are offered several options to top up their accounts including credit cards, e-dirham or direct deduction form bank account under Dubai E-Government system.

The number of subscribers to Salik Portal exceeded 300 thousand individuals since inception of the service in 2007; a fact which underlines the confidence pinned by customers in the e-services.

Customers also have the option to use traditional methods in topping up their accounts through visiting a number of Petrol Stations such as EPCO, ENOC, and ADNOC, or branches of Dubai Islamic Bank / Emirates International Bank.

"Services offered also include interactive voice response system which enables customers to review their account balances & toll gates usage details, and may even request account records through SMS. This could be processed through contacting Salik Call Center at 800-72545, and following up voice directions. RTA will shortly unveil new and prompt services to top up account balances" added Al-Marzooki.

He hailed the advance awareness level of subscribers who appreciated the role of the toll gate system in facilitating their mobility, treating them to a different lifestyle. He called upon subscribers to deal accurately with these services, follow up system instructions in a proper way, and ensure correct entry of account number and pin code when topping up Salik accounts.

He also advised customers to remove details of their vehicles from Salik Account when selling their vehicles or in case the tag is damaged as a result of misuse or otherwise.
