RJ reports 18% increase in passenger numbers last month

All operational indicators at Royal Jordanian (RJ) witnessed continuous growth in light of the increasing demand on traveling aboard RJ aircraft, which is due to the ongoing improvements in air and ground services.

This rising demand is a result of facilitating travel procedures, including automated reservation and sales systems, e-ticketing, and introducing modern aircraft that enjoy the highest comfort and safety features that passenger are looking at.

The number of passengers RJ transported on its network which combines 56 international destinations increased from 236,000 passengers in July last year to 278,000 passengers in July this year; an increase of 18%.Accordingly, the seat factor grew up in July to reach 81%, marking an increase of 5% over July 2007.

This remarkable growth reflected on flight frequencies, which went up by 5% from 2817 flights in July 2007 to 3244 flights last month. In addition, the flying hours grew by 16% from 8255 hours to 9577 hours.

As for aircraft mileage, it increased by 14% registering 6,167,937 kilometers, and the uplifted cargo carried on board RJ aircraft logged a 14% increase in July this year.

RJ attained positive results in the first seven months of this year in comparison to the same period last year; the number of passengers increased by 21%, flight frequencies by 16%, flying hours by 17%, aircraft mileage by 18% and the uplifted cargo by 23%.

The reservation systems in Royal Jordanian indicate that the company will still achieve record results in passenger numbers in the coming months that are seeing a growing demand due to the Hajj and holiday seasons and on all sectors connected with more than 700 cities served by the oneworld airline members, in which RJ is a member.
