A concerted team effort between Right Angle Media and government organisations, such as Road and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has enabled these shelters to be delivered to the bus commuters of Dubai.
Right Angle Media's Director of Operations, Jim Davies, explained:
"The extensive combined efforts undertaken in activating over 350 air conditioned shelters at the height of summer demonstrates Right Angle Media and the RTA's concern for the public. Our commitment to providing world-class public transport amenities for commuters and tourists alike remains on top of our agenda. We aim to make travelling in Dubai more convenient, safe and comfortable."
For commuters, key benefits and conveniences of air-conditioned bus shelters include improved air quality, offering protection against vehicle emissions, as well as noise and air pollution all in an ambient temperature of 22-degrees.
To advertisers, Right Angle Media's shelters present a unique, high impact, mass broadcast medium. Only operational shelters carry an advertiser's message.
The environment also benefits at the air conditioned bus shelters. Every shelter site is also fitted out with Right Angle Media's recycling units. These units include separate bins for glass, metal and plastic waste, which encourage commuters to be environmentally - conscious.
Right Angle Media employs a team of over 100 employees to maintain, clean and thoroughly check every shelter daily. The rollout is on track, according to agreed RTA schedules, with 640 shelter sites currently in progress and the number of operational sites growing daily.
