Sustainable development of offshore E&P facilities to meet your production needs

  • United Arab Emirates: Thursday, August 28 - 2008 at 12:01
  • PRESS RELEASE

With the increased global demand for hydrocarbons and escalated fuel prices, the oil and gas companies are pressured to increase their production capacity.

To accomplish this, the numbers of major and expansion projects have risen.

However, meeting project deadlines and budget is easier said than done. Oil and gas companies as well as EPC contractors suffer from numerous challenges including supply and demand imbalance, price fluctuations, unavailability of critical supplies and lack of required skill pool.

These issues are amplified for offshore projects, where harsher environmental conditions pose additional engineering and construction challenges.

Although application of advanced technologies and techniques are helpful in overcoming some offshore issues, many remain unresolved as they require rethinking the traditional methods of operation in light of the new competitive landscape. Successful completion of these projects depends on a thorough understanding of the energy market factors, using innovative design concepts, improving contractual agreements and enhancing engineering and construction activities.

Regional experts from Saudi Arabia, Iran, UAE, Pakistan, India, UK, and many more will be gathering at the Offshore Projects Summit at the Hilton Hotel and Resort in Abu Dhabi from the 13th to 15th of October to discuss their pioneering and revolutionizing activities in this field and overcoming the unique offshore challenges by reforming traditional methods of operation.

This summit has raised a lot of interest amongst offshore experts from oil and gas operators, EPC contractors, engineering subcontractors and technology providers. The immense amount of interest can be attributed to the fact that this is the first conference of its kind that does not focus on minute details of using a specific technology, tool or material, but rather provides information on the landscape of offshore projects within the region and highlights the re-thinking and remodeling activities of the leading companies in the field.

In addition to informative case studies, the summit contains a one-on-one consulting session with the leading experts from ODS-PETRODATA, joining the delegation from the US, prepared to provide consultancy for each individual's specific questions and needs.

Leila Masinaei, Oil and Gas Divisional Director, says:
"We are expecting a large delegation from Middle East, North Africa, Asia and Europe, making this the first platform for thinking "big" and amending "essential" changes for ongoing and upcoming projects in our waters."
