UAE economy to grow 6.6% in 2008

The UAE's central bank governor said the nation's economy will grow at a rate of 6.6% in 2008 and will 'stay strong through 2009' if oil prices remain above $60 a barrel, reported Bloomberg. Sultan Bin Nasser Al-Suwaidi added that the UAE has 'no plans' to revalue its currency against the dollar or drop the dirham's peg.
