Her Highness Sheikha Manal said:
"The annual forum highlights the contribution of Arab women regionally to both economic growth and cultural development and builds on the efforts of our leadership which encourages women to hold leadership positions. Through the forum, we aim to strengthen the role of women as community leaders and to inspire future generations of women to actively participate in nation building."
H.H added: "Our goal in the establishment is to provide women in the Arab world with the advanced skill sets and best practices for assuming leadership roles, on par with top-tier achievers worldwide."
The two-day event will see an elite group of women leaders from around the region deliberating on 'Women and Leadership Research - The State of the Art'; 'Leadership Development - Universal Models and Culturally Specific Applications'; 'Leadership and Organizational Change: Fostering Women's Leadership in Organizations', and 'Approaches to Closing Leadership Gender Gaps'.
Mona Al Marri, Chairperson of the DWE Board, confirmed the importance of the forum to local and Arab women, saying:
"The Arab Women Leadership Forum will provide women from across the region with an avenue to voice their opinions and share diverse perspectives on what it takes to be a results-oriented leader and create a new generation of leaders."
Al Marri added: "Dubai and the UAE have always encouraged initiatives that aim to establish the region as a society committed towards larger involvement of women in all fields."
The Dubai Women Establishment has initiated several programmes for the benefit of women with the active participation of private and public sector organizations. It aims to particularly ensure that Emirati women pursue an aggressive growth agenda that positively impacts the UAE economy, and the overall Gulf region.
