The two newly-renovated and sleekly-designed areas reflect the Club's passion for fitness and a healthy and relaxed lifestyle as the Club seeks to be a "home away from home in Doha."
As a summer promotion, the gym and spa are offering a 20% discount on services.
The Gym, with its collection of the latest in equipment, full range of amenities and professional training staff also offers daily group aerobic activities for both Club members and non-members.
In an effort to vary the conditioning classes, the schedule of offerings is updated and revised monthly to include sessions such as martial arts, step aerobics, Hatha yoga, salsa dancing, aqua aerobics and other group exercise classes.
In addition to the latest equipment and instruction, flat-screen TVs, group classes, personal training, strength training equipment, and free weights, the Gym features the Cardio Theatre audio-video system on banks of cardio machines such as treadmills, cross-trainers, stationery bicycles and elliptical machines that feature individual access to music and television.
Alexandru Lupu, Assistant Recreation Manager, remarked:
"Our Gym features new, state-of-the-art Technogym equipment. A professional fitness trainer is always available to answer questions or offer assistance. Private personal training sessions are also available. One of our goals is to appeal to clients of all fitness levels and make them feel comfortable with our facilities."
The Gym is available to Club members only.
Tennis and newly-renovated squash courts are open for use and will soon feature tournament play.
Lessons for members and non-members are available for both sports and taught by professional, nationally-ranked instructors.
The Gym's architecture and design feature bright, open spaces with wicker furniture, overstuffed cushions and tables laden with candles and fresh fruit.
There are separate changing rooms for men and women.
A juice bar will soon add to the setting's atmosphere of health and relaxation.
Dina Khlat, Acting General Manager of The Diplomatic Club, said of the Gym and SPA areas, "We stressed a "clean" design for this space. We wanted our clients to feel as if they are relaxing at a vacation house; a place where they can unwind and feel comfortable. We really wanted it to have a calming and luxurious feel."
The SPA is architecturally designed with a nod to ancient Roman baths and features a cold plunge pool, sauna, steam rooms and Jacuzzis.
This is a relaxation- oriented SPA with interiors and rooms created to reflect Balinese calmness and serenity.
Separate massage rooms for men and women feature plush linens, fresh flowers, shell and nature décor and most of the rooms are featuring lagoon views.
The SPA's premier service is the Aromatherapy Massage.
There are several types of this treatment like the Relaxation Aromatherapy Massage, recommended to calm the body and spirit, and the Refreshing Aromatherapy Massage, designed to ease discomfort and improve breathing, alertness and concentration.
The SPA's six therapists, three male and three female masseurs, offer 13 massage therapies including Swedish, Thai, aromatherapy and sports massage and is the only spa in Doha to feature Slim Line equipment for weight loss.
Hot stone therapy and reflexology are also offered to maximize relaxation benefits.
Any client taking a therapy in the SPA is welcome to full use of the SPA's amenities such as the steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi, as the Club's wish is for you to relax.
The spa is open to the public and it is recommended that spa appointments be booked in advance.
There are three ladies' times per week, two in the morning and one in the evening.
The Diplomatic Club also features a temperature-controlled pool oasis on its deck overlooking the lagoon, complete with a waterfall.
Pool availability is for members only, but swimming lessons are open to the public.
The Club has the ultimate spot in which to encourage a multitude of sand and water sports, a private, pristine beach and lagoon.
This makes The Diplomatic Club the perfect place for volleyball and other beach sports and water sport activities of all kinds such as waterskiing, wakeboarding, boating, fishing trips, and, soon, parasailing.
In fact, the beach and lagoon are so perfect for these activities; The Diplomatic Club hosted last year's World Wakeboarding Championship and will host it again this November.
The International Wakeboarding Federation complimented their hosts with, "One of the world's best organized events ever"
Regarding the variety of water sports and beach activities The Diplomatic Club offers, Ms. Khlat noted, "We are always looking for ways to improve and expand our water sports activities and to really take advantage of the gorgeous private beach and lagoon as well as of our perfect location."
The Kids' Club, with a program for children aged 3-12 has also just been launched.
Daily, from 9 am to 7 pm, children assisted by highly qualified personnel can play and learn with fun, cognitive learning activities and educational games.
The Kids' Club opened is for members only and may soon introduce summer camps into its program.
