Abu Dhabi plans mass transit

The government of Abu Dhabi has announced its plans to create one of the world's largest integrated mass transit systems to connect upcoming communities, The National has reported. The system will be complex network of trams, underground metro lines, high-speed rail as well as city and long-distance buses. The government has released a preliminary map of possible routes but is still considering options for new highways, and the final blueprint is not expected until early next year when the Surface Transport Master Plan is released.
