Symbol announces global strategic alliance with Taiwan networking leader D-Link

Symbol Technologies, the global leader in mobile data transactions systems, announced today a comprehensive alliance with D-Link Corporation of Taiwan, a world leading manufacturer and distributor of networking equipment, to jointly co-develop and sell wireless local area network solution worldwide.

D-Link will purchase and sell Symbolˇ¦s wireless local area network (WLAN) PC card and related software in a multi-million dollar deal. With its advanced high-tech and cost-effective manufacturing capability, D-Link will also co-manufacture the Symbol latest IEEE802.11b Wireless Networker CompactFlash,,§ cards and distributed them worldwide. The agreement also calls for the exchange of the selected research and development finding between Symbol and D-Link. The alliance provides Symbol access to D-Linkˇ¦s well-established sales channel for wireless solutions worldwide.

ˇ§This partnership is good news for Middle East organizations that wish to implement wireless networks. Symbolˇ¦s award winning mobile and wireless technology, combined with D-Linkˇ¦s highly efficient management and distribution systems, means that the cost of wireless technology is falling rapidly.
