MEFTEC Project Director, Syed Faisal Abbas, said that the growth of MEFTEC 2009 was driven by the excellent results achieved by exhibitors at MEFTEC 2008, and continued growth in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region.
"The MEASA financial technology market is extremely robust with financial institutions investing heavily in technology in response to evergrowing competitive and regulatory challenges," said Syed Faisal Abbas.
"MEFTEC has become a fundamental part of the marketing plans of financial IT firms, as much as it remains the event of choice for the industry's A-list buyers."
"While a number of copycat events have recently sprung up in the region, MEFTEC has retained its reputation as the most admired, prestigious and well-attended event for the financial technology community. The tremendous response to this year's show further reinforces MEFTEC's unrivalled leadership of this niche market."
MEFTEC 2009 will see the introduction of a high-tech networking programme that includes state-of-the-art online and on-site networking tools. These new features complement the event's highly acclaimed Hosted Delegate Programme, a more sophisticated participant pre-vetting process, and a new exhibition-led format offering eight hours of non-competing, uninterrupted exhibition time.
"As the event's largest ever edition and packed with new innovations, MEFTEC 2009 will be the one place you can meet and do business with everyone that counts across the whole spectrum of financial technology," concluded Syed Faisal Abbas.
MEFTEC 2009 takes place 10-11 February 2009 at Bahrain, the Middle East's financial capital and home to 400+ financial institutions. Over the past five years, MEFTEC has evolved out of a small regional event featuring a handful of participants, into a slick, sophisticated, international trade exhibition that brings together more than 1200 attendees from across the globe and represents an industry valued at $6bn. The event is hosted by the Central Bank of Bahrain.
