Thuraya launches new billing system

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, September 01 - 2008 at 10:50
  • PRESS RELEASE

In continuation of its ongoing customer-centric strategy, Thuraya has launched a new billing system that provides more flexibility and efficiency in its customer service operations.

The advanced cutting-edge billing system combines both prepaid and postpaid customers in one unified interface, thus allowing easier and faster administration.

Built by LHS, the new billing system BSCS iX Release 2 simplifies and speeds up the billing process for Thuraya and for its Service Providers. The features of the new system will even allow a faster provision of specialised and customised bills that incorporate all tariffs, discounts and specific rate schemes.

The improved billing system integrates all Thuraya services into one database, which is an essential step for billing convergence and ease of operations. Furthermore, its elaborate framework allows Thuraya to add new products and services to the billing system without major restructuring.

"Billing in the mobile satellite services is a complex world involving hundreds of markets and SPs, and hundreds of thousands subscribers with numerous rates, schemes and discounts. Therefore, it is imperative that we have a high-quality, highly flexible and advanced billing system that supports our business and marketing plans as we move ahead,"

said Thuraya's CEO Mr. Yousuf Al Sayed.

He also added that billing is a vital part of customer service, and our ability to provide advanced billing options is considered as part of our commercial excellence and competitive advantage.

The Company shifted to using the new billing system on 4th of July and successfully generated the July bill cycle in the third week of August, and has already provided training to its SPs and the customer service team.
